Wabongwa "Bongwe" Makate - Head Guide

Bongwe

Bongwe is a local Motswana, born on the edge of the Makadikadi Pan at Gweta. He has been an integral member of the Macatoo team for some nine years, starting with us as a back up guide in 1999. As head guide since 2004, Bongwe is renowned for his guiding skills and sense of humour!

An expert on the wildlife and fauna, Bongwe will take you on amazing rides through the Delta on one of his favourite horses, the appropriately named ˜Delta', and old hand Mowana'. Bongwe particularly likes to take our guests on guided game walks and will also take you on exciting game drives.
