There are a number of specialist riding safari operators and agents who can organise your trip to Macatoo, along with flights and additions to your itinerary. Alternatively, you are welcome to check availability with our reservations department at the Maun Office. If you are in doubt as to whether you meet the required criteria to ride, please contact reservations for further guidance.
All guests need to organise appropriate insurance in advance of arrival in camp. Many insurance companies will not insure a riding holiday unless guests wear a hard hat while in the saddle. It is the responsibility of all guests to provide their own hats. African Horseback Safaris cannot accept any liability for any injuries sustained as a result of ignoring this advice.
Once you have secured your dates on safari with Reservations and have forwarded your completed questionnaire, your booking will be held on a provisional basis while you check into flights and other logistics. Once confirmed, your invoice will be issued for your safari and a 30% deposit should be paid within 14 days. Balance of payment should be sent at least 60 days prior to safari start date. This may be paid by Telegraphic Transfer or Visa/MasterCard credit cards.
Please quote your name and invoice number on the payment and instruct your bank that the beneficiary (African Horseback Safaris) should receive the full invoice amount, with no charges deducted.

50% discount offered on return flights from Maun to Macatoo for any bookings of 7 nights or more, and FREE return flights from Maun to Macatoo on any bookings of 10 nights or more.
Non-Riding Partner
We offer a 10% discount on accommodation for non-riding partners and friends joining a safari. Non-riding activities include game drives, boating, mokoro excursions and fishing (all water based acitivites are subject to water levels).
Macatoo Miles
5% discount offered on the daily accommodation rate for guests who rebook within 12 months of their previous stay. Note that the travel date of the subsequent trip does not need to be within a 12-month period. The offer applies to any return visit confirmed within a year.
Green Season Family Holiday
Families and groups of 8 or more people staying for a minimum of 5 nights during low season (ie 1st Dec through to 31st March) will be offered exclusive use of camp, subject to availability.

Flights to Macatoo is a 30 minute scenic flight from Maun or 1½ hours from Kasane (which is located on the Botswana side of Victoria Falls), followed by a game drive/boat trip, depending on water levels. Due to the Kasane flight being longer guests would not be able to ride on their day of departure. Costs are per person one way and include government and airline taxes, which are subject to change.
